Support for people with disabilities
The “Library & Information Center of ASPETE” participates in the Cooperative Network of Accessible Bibliography Providers for the support of people with disabilities-Disabled, which operates within the Association of Greek Academic Libraries (S.E.A.B.), based on N. 3404/2005 Article 17 and of law 4009/2011 article 48, but also on the basis of the new Program Agreement for the “Establishment of the Association of Greek Academic Libraries” as it has been voted and signed on 20-5-2020 by its members, the FOREVER. of the country, the National Library and the Academy.
In AMELib are documented and posted the taught books of the Greek universities that participate in the Cooperative Network, the documents provided for this purpose by the copyright holders, as well as documents of open access.
Beneficiaries
Beneficiary users of the services of the Cooperative Network and AMELib are the print-dsabled members of the Network libraries. The form-disability as a term is mentioned in article 2 of Law 4672/2020 for:
A) a person with visual impairments, which cannot be improved, so that the person acquires a visual function substantially equivalent to that of a person without such a disability, and who therefore cannot read forms with the same ease as a person without such a problem,
(B) a person with a perceptual or reading disability who is therefore not in a position to read publications with the same substantial ease as a person without such a disability,
C) a person who is unable, due to physical disability, to hold in his hands or handle a book or to focus or move his gaze, to a degree that would normally be sufficient for him to be able to read.
Beneficiary form-disabled users have access to the entire AMELib collection, regardless of their source.
User registration in AMELib
Beneficiary users register with their application in AMELib and through the “Library & Information Center of ASPETE” are certified, after having submitted the relevant opinions from a competent public service (Disability Certification Centers).
– For students with learning difficulties (dyslexia), the opinions that are accepted are from the Educational Counseling Centers (K, ESY).
The responsibility for the correctness of the opinion lies solely with the respondents.
During their registration, they are informed about the copyright protection legislation as well as about the penalties imposed for the violation of the property and moral rights of the author.
Their passwords are issued after they have accepted the terms in their initial registration statement.
Users who violate copyright law lose access to the AMELib collection and are subject to legal penalties for doing so. (see, Application for registration in AMELIb).
If there are students who have not been admitted to higher education with 5% or other staff of the Institution who are users of the Library, it is possible to register at AMELib, after submitting a relevant opinion from the Disability Certification Center to their secretariat or service (see Sample opinion from a Disability Certification Center).
When registering, users are informed about copyright protection laws as well as the penalties for violating the copyright of their property and moral rights.
